If you are an Indian and have your roots in village, you must have a dream to see your village a developed one. Its more among the people living far away from their village than those living within. Though, it is very easy to develop any village, the process followed is so difficult and complicated that all looses their interest and have presumed that it is just impossible. Overall development is really a difficult task in the present cenario but if you have an urge to contibute a little bit, you will realise that your little contribution has made a significant contribution.

Its difficult for an individual but if all villagers work collectively, significant change can be seen in short run. You can begin the process by creating a Directory of your Village. You could be in any field/profession, living in India or abroad, just select your village (if not create it), invite all known people of your village to submit their contact details and start communicating among yourself. Once you submit your details, you will get username and password. It will allow you to see contact details of your villagers. Those living within the village may not have access and skill to use internet but they may have mobile number, submit their details also so that a communication channel could be established through mobile/SMS. Try to identify a person from your village who is educated and can communicate/provide basic information about the village. SERDO would like to make statistical database/information available for your village on this site and desingnate such persons as Village Information Officer (VIO). We also plan to provide website for your village. Villagers  can jointly manage their site and maintain/update village level information with the help of VIO. Those who can support him financially, may like to pay him some honorarium to compensate for the time spent by him.

SERDO will provide mechanism to channelize your potential and resources, and also share useful information which will be helpful in channelising various programmes to your village. Those living within the village and the institutions working for development of their village like Panchayati Raj Institutions, the Gram Sabha, NGOs. the teachers, as well as conscious persons of the village will also feel strengthened and vibrant if all educated and capable persons of the village extend their supporting hand. We know, each individual living away from their village posses some potential and knowledge to channelize but in the absence of such platform one can't make any valuable contribtion. SERDO will act as a link among all villagers to strenghtehen Village Development Forum (VDF).
